How and When are the election process done?
Nominations for elected positions will open during the October meeting. A slate of candidates shall be generated by nomination for the membership, including self-nominations from the membership. All valid nominees must consent to being placed on the ballot. Ballots will be provided during the November meeting so members can cast their votes for the elected positions. Electronic proxies will be accepted via emailing or text to President@HABPsi for this upcoming election or to anyone attending the November meeting.
Who can run for office?
The individual must be in good standing with HABPsi, which means having paid their dues for the previous year as well as having attended at least 75% of the previous year’s meetings. The individual must have obtained at least a Master’s degree in Psychology or closely related field for the President-elect position. For the Student Circle Chair Position, the individual must be enrolled in a Master’s or Doctoral program in Psychology or closely related field. For all other elected and appointed positions, the individual is only required to be a student or graduate in psychology or counseling. Every individual holding an office must commit to attending 75% of Chapter and Executive Committee meetings.
